Zara Join Life puffer jacket collection is made with recycled plastic
Zara Join Life puffer jacket collection is made using recycled plastic. The Zara collection is made with recycled polyester and for the first time, part of this polyester is made from plastic recovered on beaches and river banks.
This plastic is collected within 50 km of waterways and coastal areas without a formal collection infrastructure in Riviera Maya coast, which is a very popular. The Riviera Maya is famous for its large scale all-inclusive resorts and a historical tourism base of smaller boutique hotels as well as the many fine-dining restaurants available along the Fed 307 and on or near the beaches.
The collected plastic is sorted by quality so it can be recycled correctly. PET, the material used in water bottles, is recovered and transformed upcycled polyester. The method is very similar to Berska’s very successful limited edition – a collaboration with National Geographic- launched earlier in the season.
